Hair removal with CLARITY II

CLARITY II is part of the latest generation of laser systems and was primarily developed to achieve permanent hair removal. The system is a dual-wavelength treatment platform offering a wide range of functionalities and can be used for many different applications.

For permanent hair removal, the CLARITY II laser system precisely targets and destroys hair follicles and growth cells. This means that no new hairs can grow from them. The surrounding skin, however, remains unaffected.

Compared to older laser systems, the CLARITY II laser treatment system achieves enhanced results in shorter treatment times and is also very gentle to the skin. An integrated cooling system ensures that the treatment is even more comfortable for you. The system’s specially developed handpiece ensures safe and delicate application in practically every area of the body.

The CLARITY II platform’s wide range of functions makes it possible to offer each customer an individually tailored treatment. It can be used for applications ranging from hair removal, wrinkle treatments and refining large-pored skin to reducing the appearance of warts and pigmented spots. The CLARITY II laser system can also be used as part of a combination treatment.

Here at the prevention-center in Bern, we primarily use the CLARITY II laser system for permanent hair removal. We tailor every laser treatment to the patient’s individual skin type and needs. Permanent hair removal can treat areas including the legs, back, chest and face, as well as the armpits and the bikini area.

The CLARITY II laser system’s wide-ranging functionality means that treatments can be precisely tailored to customers’ needs. As a result, here in Bern we can offer hair removal treatments perfectly tailored to your skin type and hair colour.

Permanent hair removal comprises several treatment sessions at four to eight-week intervals. We’ll explain the procedure to you in advance and discuss the benefits and risks of laser treatment. Then, we’ll prepare an individual treatment plan for you. The treatment itself only takes a few minutes and, as a general rule, does not involve any recovery time.

About 1 to 2 weeks after your first session, you’ll notice that hairs start to fall out. However, to achieve permanent hair removal, the laser treatment has to reach hairs during the growth phase. This allows us to ensure that the damaged hairs will not grow back at a later time. For this reason, it is important that we repeat the treatment several times to achieve the greatest possible effect.

Hair growth is reduced by 10% to 30% with every session. Overall, you can expect hair density to be reduced by more than 80%.

Once the hair has been removed, it can grow back if the hormone status changes (for example after pregnancy). The hair growth that occurs afterwards is significantly less than before treatment with the Clarity II.

Before hair removal treatment, we ask that you thoroughly shave the areas to be treated. The best results can be achieved with skin that is not tanned. This is why you should avoid sun exposure of the treatment area between treatments. Hair should not be plucked or waxed for at least 4 weeks.

Slight redness may appear in the treated areas immediately after hair removal treatment. This is entirely normal and usually only persists for a matter of hours. Occasionally, this redness may be somewhat more pronounced. In this case, you should avoid scratching the red areas and allow the skin to heal of its own accord.

About 1 to 2 weeks after your first session, hairs will start to fall out. However, part of the hair will then grow back – which is why the treatment needs to be repeated several times at four to ten-week intervals. In total, around 6 - 10 sessions are usually required to achieve the desired results. The exact scope of treatment can vary from patient to patient.
